Berlin-Bochum Memory Symposium 2021

The first ever Berlin-Bochum Memory Symposium took place on 4-5 March 2021 and was a huge success. This event was a collaboration between 4 DFG funded consortia: FOR 2812, SFB 1280 and SFB 874 from Bochum and SFB 1315 from Berlin. It's goal was to bring members of the consortia together to foster collaboration. Around 120 researchers participated in this virtual event with 17 speakers and 54 posters. Sessions focused on research in memory and covered topics from neurobiology to computational neuroscience to philosophy of memory.

A 2 day PhD symposium preluded the main event and consisted of talks, networking events, poster sessions and workshops.

The research unit FOR 2812 "Constructing scenarios of the past: A new framework in episodic memory" is a project funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). The research unit studies the cognitive and neuronal mechanisms underlying scenario construction in episodic memory. We employ and integrate approaches from Philosophy, Psychology, and Experimental and Computational Neuroscience.
