The first retreat of the research unit took place on Sept. 27. - 28. 2019 in beautiful Billerbeck. Thirty scientists participated, including our Mercator Fellow Kirk Michalean, invited speaker Sabine Seehagen and special guest Dirk Jancke. The main goals of the retreat were to initiate and build collaborations between the projects, to introduce new members to the 9 scientific projects, to gain feedback and insights from external scientists and to network.
To achieve these goals we had scientific talks, team building activities, small breakout meetings, and feedback sessions.
The speaker and coordination team would like to thank everyone for participating and making the event a great success.
The research unit FOR 2812 "Constructing scenarios of the past: A new framework in episodic memory" is a project funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). The research unit studies the cognitive and neuronal mechanisms underlying scenario construction in episodic memory. We employ and integrate approaches from Philosophy, Psychology, and Experimental and Computational Neuroscience.
