Even if you are not a member of the IGSN you are free to attend their symposium and conferences (conferences usually require prior registration). They cover all areas of neuroscience and provide a fantastic network for getting to know other neuroscientists.

Detailed information is mainly available in German. The center helps with improving your teaching, learning about E-learning and on-line platforms and academic writing through the "writing center". Help is also availabe in English.

Your one stop shop for workshops, talks and advice. The research school helps PhD students and postdoctoral fellows with soft skills such as academic writing, evaluating research papers, job hunting and intercultural communication. They offer a variety of stipends (only available for RUB researchers) and can give you advice at any point during your career. Programs are offered both in English and German.

The Ruhr University is part of the UA Ruhr (University Alliance Ruhr) which compromises of the Ruhr University Bochum, the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Technical University Dortmund. The Research Academy Ruhr is their platform for supporting early career researchers i.e. PhD students and posdoctoral fellows. Programs are offered through one of the UA Ruhr universities. You should definitely look into their networking events.

This service is offered by WWU mainly for bachelor and master students. There are a few options that are relevant for PhD students. The workshops are mainly in German and are focused at helping people towards non-academic careers.

The graduate centre offers a variety of workshops for PhD students and postdoctoral fellows in both English and German in the following categories:

• soft skills and cross-disciplinary competencies

WWU Münsters equivalent to the center for learning and teaching at the RUB. All courses are in German and only available through the German version of their website (ZHL).
