After earning my master's in physics at the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, I switched to the field of computational neuroscience to explore my passion for studying memory and perception. I think computational models can provide a unique and useful insight to better understand the processes underlying our cognitive functions. And most important of all computational models can help to bridge the gap between different disciplines and combine their insights into a single comprehensive framework.
I am using my analytical skills in combination with machine learning techniques to develop a computational model for generative episodic memory that takes into account different aspects from all of the research groups.
When I am not busy with work, I enjoy hiking and woodworking.

Analysis of a Generative Model of Episodic Memory Based on Hierarchical VQ-VAE and Transformer
The research unit FOR 2812 "Constructing scenarios of the past: A new framework in episodic memory" is a project funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). The research unit studies the cognitive and neuronal mechanisms underlying scenario construction in episodic memory. We employ and integrate approaches from Philosophy, Psychology, and Experimental and Computational Neuroscience.
